We might be conscious about what we eat, however we do not consider the meaning or purpose behind our actions. Often common knowledge has us believing in things that are truly not healthy. We then wonder why it is difficult to stay in shape, and why we have no energy.  To add to that, Healthy diet knowledge is changing every few years with a new “Fad”.

Often, we are being sold truth’s to promote certain industries which do not have our best interests in mind.

To understand the basis of nutrition, we must first consider our purpose. Eating for purpose, will help you reach your desired outcomes whatever that may be. Once you understand what you are trying to achieve you can modify your diet to reach those goals, and to research what the best way to reach that would be. We can eat for energy, to lose bodyfat, to gain muscle, to prevent and fight illness and disease, or to socialize and enjoy.

Knowing why we are eating will help us reach our desired outcomes whatever that may be. Falsely eating something because we are told it is healthy can often lead to confusion.

Strange health practices lead back all the way to:

In Medieval times. In the medieval ages parents would tie rabbits’ feet around their babies’ necks, to ward off illness. Doctors would also spit on wounds because saliva was believed to have healing properties.

Here are 3 Common Healthy Food Myths:

  1. Drinking Milk everyday is good for you.
  2. Whole grains, particularly oatmeal is heart healthy.
  3. Eating Margarine is Heart Healthy, and better for you than butter.

Most Adults cannot properly digest milk

For most of our lives, we have been told to drink milk and that it is healthy. Based on further research, from what we’ve been told this can be seen as being further from the truth.

Most adults cannot properly digest milk, and milk is loaded with sugars that are very difficult for your body to break down. This sugar is lactose, and even though we may think we are okay drinking milk most humans are lactose intolerant to a greater extent. This results in symptoms of nausea, cramps, bloating, and diarrhea .

To add to the common misconception, calcium from cow’s milk is very difficult for humans to absorb. This can be especially true for pasteurized milk which is most readily available for us to purchase. To add to this research has show, that Cow’s milk has been shown to deplete calcium from our bones.

Dairy has even been shown to promote Prostate and Ovarian Cancer. Not to mention promote Acne. Common problems most of our milk consumption promoted society is facing.
